Overnight Oats

I eat overnight oats for breakfast every weekday and it never gets old. They are so easy and quick to prepare and you can easily change up what goes in it so it doesn’t get boring. Your breakfast literally makes itself why you are sleeping, what more could you want? There are so many variations of what you could put in your oats, but here’s what I’ve been doing.

What goes in:

Trader Joes Oven Toasted Old Fashioned Organic Oats

Almond Milk

Frozen Berry Medley

1 Small Honeycrisp Apple

1 Banana

1 Generous Spoonful of Flaxseed Meal

Cordyceps Powder

Turmeric

Cinnamon

Container with a lid (Jars work well or you can use a tupperware)

What you do:

Start with the oats. Pour them into your jar, I usually do about and inch and a half if I had to guess. Remember, the oats do expand once they absorb the milk. Mix in flaxseed meal, cordyceps powder, turmeric, and cinnamon. I love turmeric and cinnamon so I do a few shakes of each. This is a good time to mix in whatever other spices, powders, or seeds that you want to use. Splash in your milk. Any milk gets the job done, I just prefer almond. You want just enough so that all the oats are covered but not swimming. I pour in a few splashes and then mix it up with a spoon to make sure everything is covered. If you use less milk your oats will be drier and vise versa so it’s all about your preference. Then just add in any fruit on top and tighten the lid! Your oats go in the fridge overnight and are ready to be grabbed when you wake up. I usually add some granola to the top right before I eat them. You could also add a scoop of your choice of nut butter to the top when you are ready to eat.
